Jeffrey Tucker's brilliant article speaks to the core of the inherent conflict between enterprise and government when it comes to providing goods and services; i.e. that despite what government will claim to provide through rousing speeches and generous promises, only enterprise, through careful examination of the market and in pursuit of its own profit, fulfills the needs of consumers.
I especially enjoyed this line, which succinctly summarizes the author's point:
"To compare politicians with entrepreneurs is like comparing two runners in a race, one who stands at the starting line and makes a speech, and another who runs the full distance around the track without saying a word."
